The brand Design By Neb Abbott is born out of a desire to create magical spaces through scene stealing lighting.  Started by Neb Abbott after a ten year career as a contemporary dancer.  Keen to still be creative Neb retrained as a furniture and product designer.  Whilst training Neb won several awards and was part of Heal's Discovers 2014 with his 'Wasp' chair, that was also presented at The Salone del Mobile Milano and Clerkenwell Design Week.   That year he won a commission to design and make eight stacking benches for The Geffrey Mueum, London.  Whilst working for a small furniture company in London, Neb started designing in his own time.  Inspired by the possibilities of digital production where he was working, he resolved to leave and start up on his own to make his ideas a reality. 

 

With the aid of a move to Manchester and a supportive partner Neb presented his first design to the public in 2016.  Now DNA produces a range of stunning sculptural lampshades that transform the space they are in.  Each design is hand crafted in his workshop in Manchester, custom made to the clients requirements, individually finished with the care and attention of a piece of art.

Neb continues to present his work to the public at design events, craft shows and the connections he makes informs the personal service he provides to his clients.  He say "I love talking to clients about the interior design plans for their new house or home renovation.  It's great then getting photos of my work in the space they've created."
